* Nora turns to go after explaining her reason for leaving Torvald, when the Nurse comes in from the side room *
Nurse: * talks in a bewildered voice * Uhhmm ma'am . I was told to give this note to you. * turns to go *
Nora: * opens the note and gasps *: ... This note says that Mrs. Linde talked Dr. Rank into saying that he was ill and dying so that..... Well point is Dr. Rank isn't dead. I'm going over to him.. Goodbye Torvald. * slams door creating a tumultuous noise throughout the room *
Torvald: * Stands at the door speechless. Trying to suppress his feelings *
* Nora turns up at Dr. Ranks house and rings the bell. Dr. Rank answers and invites her in with a puzzled look on his face *
Dr. Rank: What brings you here Nora?
Nora: * sits down on the couch next to him* Well.. All those things that I said about not being with you and being with Torvald instead.. I changed my mind. Before I came here * proceeds to tell Dr. Rank about what she had done and how Torvald had reacted * I thought that Helmer would understand but he didn't instead he was worried about him and his reputation and that's not love. All I've been to him is a doll in his doll house.I told him that I was leaving him because thats not how a woman should be treated and I can't live with the incompetent likes of one such as that. I need to find myself and find out what true love is.
Dr. Rank: Wow.. Nora that's quite a lot... Well I think your right about how its not right that you should be punished for doing something to save your loved one. I only have on question for you..
Nora: * moves closer * What is it?
Dr. Rank: Nora do you love me and do you think you would be able to handle being treated like a real woman instead of a doll?
Nora: Yes I do.
Dr. Rank: Well then you can stay here with me.

So Act 1 was interesting. Nora and Helmer's marriage is so weird. The way he speaks to her is not acceptable in my opinion. " Nora Nora just like a woman. " (p. 149). What is that supposed to mean? I think that was sexist or something of the sort. Then he calls her a scatterbrain and a featherbrain. She just takes it too, like it's frivolous! I wouldve went off! She's so foolish in that way. When Mrs.Linde is talking to Nora it reminds me of me and my bestfriend. " I haven't a father to pay my fare Nora. " (p.157) She's always telling me I should have no worries because I get everything I want. That soooo isn't true! I think Nora compares to me here.
She actually made an effort to save Helmer because she wanted to do something on her own. I think that was smart of her. But squandering someone else's money is unacceptable. Helmer shouldn't be so mean because he has no idea what is wife is hiding from him. Also he is being rude because why should he care about what other people think of his relationship with Krogstad? It's his life not theirs. Ugh Helmer just makes me so mad. In my opinion he should've died instead of going to Italy. I deserve that trip.

Hey Guys, I'm Bria Watts. I'm a sophmore at Bloomfield High School. I love English class because I get to read and I love reading. Anywas I should probably tell you about what I'm currently reading. It's called A Doll's House. It is a play by Henrik Ibsen.
Henry is a Norwegian poet and playwright theatre director. He was born on March 20th, 1828 into a merchant family. When he was 15 he dropped out of school to get a full time job. During his free time from work he would write poems and paint. These were some of his early work. He would then write many plays such as A Doll's House, Ghost, An Enemy Of The People, etc. A Doll's House was one of the best plays he wrote which stirred many people. He died on May 23, 1906.
